Job Summary:

 

Mercury Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Planning and Logistics to oversee and manage all production planning and logistics activities related to materials management and inventory control within our Oxnard manufacturing facility. 

 

In this role, you will handle day-to-day operational responsibilities spanning production planning, materials management, inventory control, and materials functions such as shipping and receiving. You will translate customer delivery requirements into effective material strategies and processes that drive cost-efficient operations and profitable manufacturing of Mercury’s products. 

 

Working collaboratively with manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering, and sales teams, you will define goals, drive technology improvements, and resolve operational challenges. You will also develop operational plans, policies, and procedures to ensure the efficient execution of the business’s operating plan. 

 

As a key stakeholder, you will play a critical role in advancing Mercury’s strategic priorities—predictable performance, sustained growth, margin expansion, and cash flow optimization—through strong delivery performance and effective inventory management. 

 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain accuracy of Work-in-Process inventory and Operations execution plans
  • Deliver on shipment and inventory commitments 
  • Develop and maintain forecasts and factory schedule loading 
  • Direct planning and logistics activities to meet internal/external customer commitments 
  • Drive risk mitigation strategies for material flexibility and agility 
  • Resolve inventory, scheduling, and material shortage issues; drive RCCA initiatives to prevent recurrence 
  • Drive performance improvement using industry best practices and Lean principles 
  • Establish and monitor standard KPIs for efficiency and effectiveness 
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects 
  • Ensure ERP data integrity (item attributes, BOMs, routings) for accurate MPS/MRP planning 
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to production planners  

Required Qualifications: 

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related major  
  • Typically requires 6+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or planning operations, including at least 3 years of demonstrated leadership  
  • Experience in electronic manufacturing with Low volume, High mix, high complexity products 
  • This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in DoD or Aerospace
  • APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)   
  • Experience in ERP systems with Oracle
