Foley Equipment is the authorized Caterpillar dealer in Kansas and NW Missouri.  
 
Our Engine Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, repairing and rebuilding diesel and compression gas engines to provide an excellent customer experience. We are a Caterpillar Dealer located in the state of Kansas and NW Missouri.  
 
Pay range: $22.81 to $52.05

What You Will Do in This Role: 
  • Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on engines as well as diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical repairs and adjustments 
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required by fluctuating workloads and available for after-hours calls as needed 
  • Create a work environment that is considerate of the customer’s needs 
  • Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations. 
 
Physical & Working Requirements
  • This role involves hands-on mechanical work in a shop environment. The employee must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. These functions may include:
  • Safely and repeatedly lifting components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance
  • Safely lifting, carrying, and lowering components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials
  • Climbing on and off equipment and working at varying heights
  • Standing, bending, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods
  • Safely operating tools and equipment 

Our Ideal Candidate: 
  • Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical and hydraulics 
  • General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments 
  • Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, schematics, line diagrams and other related publications.

  • Experience with all makes and models of engine rebuilds 
  • Stable work history 
  • Comfortable operating various types of equipment and implements, diagnostic tooling, various shop hand and electric tools and overhead hoists/cranes
