Job Summary
The Clinical Optometrist delivers comprehensive eye care within an adult multispecialty ophthalmology practice. The Optometrist will work collaboratively with MD and OD colleagues, utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, and be supported by our experienced team to provide excellent clinical outcomes and ensure high patient satisfaction. You will work closely with our glaucoma, oculoplastic, cornea, and refractive surgery specialists who will provide guidance and training as needed. 聽

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations including contact lenses and prisms.
  • Provide post-operative care for routine surgical patients mostly cataract and YAG capsulotomies.
  • Utilize and interpret diagnostic testing, including OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, and other ophthalmic imaging
  • Provide care for glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eyes, and cornea patients
  • Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive eye care in a clear and compassionate manner
  • Document all findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Stay current with advancements in optometry and ophthalmology through continuing education聽
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
  • Active and unrestricted Illinois licensure to practice optometry
  • Experience in a medical ophthalmology setting is a plus
  • Interest or experience in dry eye management preferred
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Excellent patient clinical communication skills
  • Residency completion is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
$140 to $170 base salary based on experience plus production bonus
