Brief Job Description: 

At Vertiv, we build the critical infrastructure that keeps the world's data centers running. As the Weekend Rigging Production Supervisor, you will lead the daily operations of our Rigging team, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials and finished products throughout the facility. This role is responsible for supervising employees involved in loading, unloading, staging, inventory movement, and shipment preparation using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. Partnering closely with Production, Planning, Logistics, Warehouse, and Quality teams, you will ensure customer shipments are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time investment Needed on Each:

  • Supervise the daily operations of the crane and mechanical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and timely movement of materials and finished products. 
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring materials are received, staged, loaded, and shipped according to production schedules and customer requirements. 
  • Oversee the safe operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment used to move large components and finished products. 
  • Verify shipping documentation, packing lists, bills of lading, and shipment accuracy prior to customer delivery. 
  • Coordinate with Production, Planning, Materials, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to prioritize shipments and support production schedules. 
  • Monitor inventory movement and material flow to maintain inventory accuracy and minimize production delays. 
  • Ensure employees follow proper loading, unloading, lifting, and material handling procedures while maintaining compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. 
  • Track and improve departmental KPIs including on-time shipments, inventory accuracy, loading efficiency, productivity, and safety performance. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse organization, shipping processes, and material flow through Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Train, coach, and develop employees while conducting performance evaluations, attendance management, and corrective action as needed. 
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing employee development to build a high-performing team. 
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Safety teams to resolve operational issues and implement process improvements. 

Required/ Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a supervisory position.
  • Have a recognized mechanical or electrical qualification

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of providing leadership to achieve production targets.
  • Experience in setting up high-volume production lines.
