Custodian

Position Summary

Garland Food is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated Plant Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of our garlic manufacturing facility.

This is a hands-on, physically active position requiring continuous cleaning throughout the workday. The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining both the inside and outside of the plant, including production areas, floors, restrooms, break rooms, offices, hallways, entrances, loading areas, trash areas, and exterior grounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
• Continuously remove garlic skins, food debris, dust, dirt, and trash.
• Clean around production areas and accessible equipment.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, break rooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.
• Empty trash and maintain dumpster and waste areas.
• Maintain clean and orderly entrances, walkways, loading areas, and exterior areas.
• Perform weekly and periodic deep-cleaning of areas throughout the facility.
• Keep cleaning supplies and equipment organized and properly maintained.
• Follow all GMP, food safety, sanitation, and safety requirements.
• Report maintenance, safety, or sanitation concerns to management.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, detail-oriented, and takes pride in their work. This person must be able to work independently and stay productive throughout the entire shift without constant supervision.

There is always something to clean in a busy garlic manufacturing plant. We need someone who sees what needs to be done and takes care of it without having to be told.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial, janitorial, sanitation, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to perform physically demanding cleaning tasks for extended periods.
• Comfortable working around food products, garlic, pepper, dust, and production debris.
• Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors.
• Must be available Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a MUST
