Production Supervisor

Position Title: First Shift Supervisor
Department: Production
Reports To: Operations Manager
Shift: First Shift - 4:00am - 2:30pm

Job Summary

The First Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing operations during the hours of 4:00am to 2:30pm, ensuring productivity, safety, and compliance with company policies. This role includes supervising staff, handling issues, and maintaining smooth workflow throughout the shift. Also, following the proper opening procedures. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Staff Supervision

• Supervise and coordinate activities of day shift employees
• Assign duties and ensure tasks are completed in the time given
• Enforce company policies and safety regulations
• Ensure staff follow proper procedures and rules
• Monitor employee performance and make sure they stay on task

2. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate shift reports and logs
• Submit weekly reports to Operations Manager
• Track attendance and overtime
• Using ERP system to verify and correct job hours

3. Inventory 

• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to management
• Using ERP system to draw correct materials for current and upcoming jobs

7. Team Coordination

• Conduct shift briefings and handovers
•  Work with the team to ensure production runs smoothly
• Make sure team knows the schedule and they have all tools to stay on track

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently during night hours
• Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Basic computer and reporting skills (Excel, Outlook)
• Able to follow lock up procedures
• Bilingual is a plus

Working Conditions

• First shift hours 4:00am - 2:30pm Monday - Thursday (may include weekends)
• Requires standing, walking, and supervising staff for extended periods
