Description
The Bleeding and Clotting Disorders Institute is hiring a full-time MLT for our growing organization. The Medical Laboratory Technician will perform routine phlebotomy procedures according to BCDI's established procedures and policies. He or she will collect, receive, identify, label, and process specimens following quality assurance and safety policies. He or she will transcribe laboratory orders into the BCDI electronic medical record (EMR) and referral laboratories’ requisitions/software. The MLT will also perform laboratory tests and quality control as directed by the Laboratory Manager.

Salary Range: $25.00 - $27.50 per hour dependent upon skills and experience.

Requirements
1. Associates degree.
2. MLT (ASCP or equivalent) certification, or acquired within first year of employment.
3. One-plus years laboratory experience preferred.
4. Phlebotomy skills preferred. Willingness to learn phlebotomy a must.
5. Experience performing clinical chemistry, hematology, immunoassay, hemostasis/coagulation, and specimen processing/send outs a plus.
6. Computer proficiency including EMR/LIS experience a must.
