JOB SUMMARY
Ricochet is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice to support the maintenance and reliability of our manufacturing equipment and facility. This is a hands-on development position with a primary focus on industrial sewing equipment, while providing support with general mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and facility maintenance.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, safety-focused, and eager to learn and develop into a skilled maintenance mechanic.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with troubleshooting, adjustment, repair, and preventative maintenance of industrial sewing machines and production equipment.
• Learn and support maintenance of sewing equipment including single-needle, overlock, coverstitch, bartack, and specialty machines.
• Assist with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and equipment troubleshooting under the direction of experienced maintenance personnel.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, inspections, and adjustments.
• Assist with equipment installation, relocation, setup, and repairs.
• Respond to production equipment issues and help minimize downtime.
• Assist with general facility maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventative maintenance, and parts used.
• Keep maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
• Follow all safety, OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, GMP, and company requirements.
• Work closely with Production Supervisors and Operators to identify and resolve equipment issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong interest in learning industrial maintenance.
• Previous manufacturing, mechanical, sewing machine, automotive, electrical, or technical experience is a plus.
• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
• Basic computer skills and ability to follow written instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Dependable attendance and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
CAREER DEVELOPMENT
This position is designed to provide a career path toward becoming a Maintenance Mechanic / Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic. Advancement and pay increases will be based on demonstrated skills, knowledge, performance, and ability to independently troubleshoot and repair equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and work around production equipment.
• Ability to lift and move tools, parts, and equipment as required.
• Ability to work safely around machinery, electrical equipment, and manufacturing processes.
