Private Homeschool Teacher – Grades 2th, 4th & 7th

Full-Time | Starting Salary: $52,000/year | Travel Required | Available ASAP

We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, patient, and highly adaptable Private Homeschool Teacher to provide individualized education for three children at approximately the 2nd, 4th, and 7th grade levels.

We are looking for a qualified educator who genuinely enjoys teaching children and is committed to helping them grow both academically and personally. Our goal is not simply to complete a curriculum, but to develop confident, curious, organized, responsible, and increasingly independent learners.

Responsibilities

The teacher will provide age-appropriate instruction and educational support across core subjects, including:

  • Reading and reading comprehension
  • Writing, spelling, and grammar
  • Mathematics
  • Science and social studies
  • Research and study skills
  • Verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Organization and time management
  • Independent learning skills

A key responsibility of this position is teaching the children how to learn independently. The teacher will help them develop the ability to read and understand instructions, conduct their own research, identify reliable information, complete assignments independently, communicate effectively, manage their time, and follow a structured academic schedule.

The successful candidate must be comfortable teaching children at different grade levels and adapting lessons and teaching methods to each child's individual abilities, learning style, strengths, and areas requiring additional support.

The Person We Are Looking For

Our ideal candidate is:

  • Patient, positive, dependable, and genuinely passionate about teaching children
  • Highly organized and capable of establishing and maintaining a structured learning environment and daily schedule
  • Flexible and comfortable adapting to last-minute changes while maintaining consistency for the children
  • Proactive, resourceful, and naturally willing to step in and help when needed
  • Creative and able to explain concepts in different ways based on each child's learning style
  • Focused on developing confidence, responsibility, critical thinking, and independence
  • Mature, trustworthy, professional, reliable, and serious about the commitment
  • A strong communicator who can provide parents with regular updates regarding academic progress, accomplishments, and areas requiring additional attention
  • Comfortable being hands-on and assisting with the children during transportation and family travel when needed
  • Available to work occasionally on weekends, with advance notice whenever possible

Qualifications

  • Formal teaching degree, teaching credentials, or recognized professional teaching qualifications
  • Previous professional teaching, homeschooling, or comparable educational experience
  • Strong academic, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working with children with different learning needs, including autism, is strongly preferred
  • Ability to speak and teach a second language is highly desirable
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification promptly
  • Valid passport and ability to travel
  • Comfortable using computers, online educational platforms, research tools, and other learning resources
  • Ability to develop lesson plans, organize coursework, track assignments, and monitor academic progress

We place significant value on a teacher's professional experience, patience, reliability, adaptability, teaching ability, and ability to build a positive and trusting relationship with children.

Travel & Flexibility

Our family travels periodically, and the successful candidate must be willing and able to travel with the family when necessary while maintaining the children's educational routine.

Travel may include airport transfers, flights, road trips, hotel stays, and other transitions. The teacher should be comfortable assisting with the children during transportation and travel in addition to maintaining appropriate educational activities and routines.

This position requires someone who can go with the flow and adapt professionally to schedule changes, including occasional last-minute adjustments, while continuing to provide the children with structure and consistency.

When work-related travel is required, the family will cover:

  • Transportation
  • Hotel/accommodations
  • Meals
Compensation
Starting salary: $52,000 per year

Compensation may be adjusted based on experience, qualifications, professional teaching background, additional languages, and experience working with autism or other learning needs.

What Matters Most to Us

We want our children to develop more than academic knowledge. We want them to become capable and independent young people who can:

Read confidently. Write clearly. Communicate effectively. Research independently. Think critically. Stay organized. Follow a schedule. Ask questions. Solve problems. Take responsibility for their work. Build confidence. Become increasingly independent.

We are looking for someone who takes education and this position seriously while creating a patient, encouraging, structured, engaging, and enjoyable learning environment.

Position available ASAP.

Applicants should submit a résumé along with information regarding their teaching experience and credentials, experience working with children, languages spoken, experience with autism or other learning needs, CPR/First Aid certification, passport and travel availability, and earliest possible start date.
