Shipping Clerk

Reports to: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following; other duties may be assigned.

• Performs counting, unloading, put-away, sorting, labeling, picking, packing, auditing, shipping and making boxes
• Counts inventory before packing and shipping
• Checks, verifies and audits part that they are not damages or defective.
• Matches pick ticket information to actual packed items.
• Keep work area clean at all times (5 S's)

Education and Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least one to two years of warehouse/inventory experience is required.
• Experience in a fast paced, high unit shipping environment.
• Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
• Professional written and verbal fluency in English is required.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Computer software skills in ERP systems, MS Office programs and general data entry.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, use hands to finer, handle or feel.  The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Must frequently lift and move up to 50lbs, occasionally required to lift and/or move more than 100lbs.
• Specific vision required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
