PLUMBER

POSITION SUMMARY
Jenkins Plumbing Company is seeking a dependable and experienced Plumber to join our growing team. The Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards, building codes, and project specifications.
This position requires someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work, works well independently and as part of a team, and is committed to providing quality workmanship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and related equipment.
- Read and follow blueprints, plans, specifications, and work orders.
- Install water supply lines, drainage systems, vents, fixtures, and other plumbing components.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install piping and plumbing materials.
- Troubleshoot plumbing problems and complete necessary repairs.
- Perform rough-in, top-out, trim, and other plumbing work as assigned.
- Test plumbing systems for leaks and proper operation.
- Ensure work meets applicable plumbing codes, safety requirements, and company quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Properly use and care for company tools, equipment, and materials.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, builders, contractors, homeowners, and other customers when applicable.
- Complete assigned work accurately and within established timelines.
- Follow all company safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate job-related issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist other team members as needed to complete projects.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous plumbing experience required; new construction plumbing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, tools, and installation methods.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction plans preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve plumbing-related issues.
- Understanding of applicable plumbing and safety codes.
- Must be dependable and able to report to work as scheduled.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Professional attitude and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required depending on position responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee must be able to:
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach.
- Work in confined spaces and construction environments.
- Safely climb ladders and work at varying heights.
- Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull plumbing materials, tools, and equipment.
- Lift up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
- Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position primarily works on active construction sites and may involve exposure to heat, cold, rain, dust, noise, dirt, uneven surfaces, and other typical construction-site conditions. Employees are expected to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and comply with all company safety requirements.
