What You Should Know About the Drug Reconciliation Analyst/Coder:

  • Monday- Friday: Typical hours 8:00-4:30. No weekends or call.
  • This position is based within Jefferson Regional Oncology Practice 

Job Summary:

The Drug Reconciliation Analyst/Coder is responsible to reconcile pharmacy transactions via superbills, appointment schedules, remittance advice, pharmacy reports s and pharmacy invoices. Research and track all unpaid or denied claims writing appeal letters when necessary. Research any variances in payment to contracted rates. Work with Pharmacy personnel regarding any outstanding issues or discrepancies. Understand and update clinicians and Director on insurance coverage guidelines, benefits and policies. Maintain understanding of State and Federal guidelines. Keeps up to date on all coding requirements and guidelines and in-services as well as assists with any coding needs of the department.

Drug Reconciliation Analyst/Coder Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Technical Diploma in medical coding with certification.
  • Completion of a credentialed coding education program.
  • AHIMA or AAPC certification required.
  • Certified Professional Coder, Certified Coding Specialist, or equivalent required
  • Oncology Certified Coder- preferred.
  • Minimum Requirements:
  1. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats
  2. Works to create and maintain good relationships with Pharmacy department, supervisors and coworkers. Fosters working as a team; dealing with and resolving conflict in a timely, efficient and positive manner. 
  3. Minimum of 3 years medical billing experience
  4. Strong attention to detail, analytical and time management skills
  • Preferred Requirements:
    1. Experience working in an oncology clinic as a coder
