Definition:

The Clinic Coordinator works within Renewal, Inc.’s Outpatient Mental Health Clinic and is responsible for coordinating the administrative and client-service functions necessary to support effective delivery of behavioral health services.

The Clinic Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for clients upon arrival and is responsible for greeting, instructing, and directing clients; ensuring required assessments, documentation and authorizations are obtained and maintained; checking clients into the appropriate system; verifying insurance or other funding authorization for services; scheduling and confirming appointments and follow-up appointments; and notifying clinical staff of client arrival. This individual will also assist and work with individuals in Renewal’s residential inpatient treatment units.

The Clinic Coordinator facilitates communication among clients, medical providers, clinical staff, referral sources, and other providers to ensure continuity of care and that client needs are appropriately addressed. This individual coordinates and follows up on referrals, assists with obtaining required records and documentation, and supports the clinical team with administrative and care-coordination activities.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Must have a working knowledge of billing codes and related documentation requirements. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and take initiative with minimal supervision. Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to changing technology and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to conduct research as needed are required. Strong written and verbal communication, positive customer service, sound judgment, and interpersonal skills are essential. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in human services, Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred, with experience in behavioral health, mental health, substance use treatment, healthcare, or a related human services setting.
