The School also provides vital early intervention and outreach services to visually impaired students, with or without additional challenges, throughout western Pennsylvania. Founded in 1887, our School is best equipped to care for and educate students with visual impairments. As a private institution chartered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the School educates approximately 200 enrolled students from 80-85 school districts within western Pennsylvania. POSITION SUMMARY: The Night Aide will be responsible for providing personal care support for the WPSBC's Residential population during the overnight hours. They will be able to provide personal care when needed (lifting, toileting, bathing, etc). The Night Aide will also complete routine checks at every 15 minute interval for our Residential population (currently 18 students, 25 at max capacity).  FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Working Schedule: 187 days per year; Sundays through Thursdays from 11:00pm to 7:00am.  Compensation: $20-$22/hr depending on education level completed RESPONSIBILITIES: Student Supervision & Safety Provide continuous supervision of students overnight hours Assist with personal care needs, such as feeding, mealtime, toileting, mobility, self-care, and hygiene. Implement safety plans Ensure a safe, structured, and supportive residential environment for all residential students. Behavioral & Social-Emotional Support Support implementation of positive behavior intervention plans (PBIPs) and reinforcement strategies. When applicable, model and promote appropriate social skills, self-regulation, and coping strategies. Collaboration & Communication Work under the direction of the Overnight Manager. Maintain professional and confidential relationships with students, families, and staff. To accept/follow directives and supervision regarding the students and their programs. To be flexible regarding daily assignments Documentation & Reporting Collect and record data on student performance, participation, and behavior as directed. Follow all school, state, and federal guidelines for documentation, confidentiality, and mandated reporting. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, transfer, and assist participants throughout the workday. Ability to safely assist participants with mobility and personal care needs. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to respond quickly and effectively during emergencies.
