What you'll do: Â
Acquire accurate materials or chemicals as taughtÂ
Perform general non-sterile compounding duties under the direct supervision of a pharmacistÂ
Affix appropriate labels to final prescription productÂ
Compound medication or chemicals into proper dosage forms safely and accuratelyÂ
Use of electronic compounding softwareÂ
Operate and maintaining complicated pharmacy equipmentÂ
Monitor compounding environment and maintain and update pharmacy logsÂ
Supervise inventory needsÂ
Clean the compounding area daily and as neededÂ
Respect and maintain confidentiality guidelines of HIPAAÂ
Answer and referring customer questions as appropriateÂ
Maintain quality assuranceÂ
Maintains a familiarity and compliance with compounding standards, including USP < 795 > and < 800 >Â
Understands and follows all Standard Operating ProceduresÂ
Manages time well to allow for periods of great volume and rush ordersÂ
Effectively connect with customers and all staff membersÂ
Maintain a positive and friendly demeanorÂ
Any other responsibilities as deemed vital that is within the scope of a pharmacy technicianÂ
Compounding team members may be exposed to chemicals used in the preparation of compounds (some are classified as hazardous and/or toxic by the National Institute for Safety and Health and special safety precautions must be taken when working with these chemicals)Â

What you'll need: Â
Be at least 18 years old and have the appropriate licensure in the state of the pharmacy you are working at, and other states and credentials as required  Â
Technician experience in any pharmacy setting is preferredÂ
Strong math skillsÂ
Required to undergo respirator fit testing - Full beards or a lot of facial hair may prevent a proper seal for the respiratorÂ
Must be capable to undergo N95 respirator fit testing with an outside vendor. Full beards or a lot of facial hair may prevent a proper seal for the respiratorÂ
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentÂ
Must not have active suspensions, sanctions, or other restrictions against any state license or certification as it relates to the job activities and responsibilities listed hereinÂ
Must be capable of working with small, delicate pieces of expensive machinery to complete appropriate dosage forms in a timely mannerÂ
Must have visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perceptionÂ
The ability to lift at least 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of timeÂ
Ability to work in a variety of positions and locations such as sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and walking; for prolonged periods of timeÂ
Must be able to wear required PPE for long periods of time when requiredÂ
Able to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controlsÂ
