Job Summary:

Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid - This position follows a hybrid work model with an expectation of in-office presence in the Plano office at least three days per week.)

We are seeking a highly collaborative and strategic SharePoint Online Platform Leader to serve as the business and technical owner of our enterprise SharePoint Online platform.

This role goes beyond platform administration and requires a leader who can partner with business stakeholders, establish governance standards, drive modernization initiatives, and oversee managed services teams. The successful candidate will combine stakeholder management, strategic thinking, operational leadership, and technical credibility to improve platform adoption, governance, user experience, and business value.

Essential Job Functions

  • Act as the internal SharePoint Online platform owner and trusted business advisor.
  • Build strong relationships across business and technology teams.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to persuade stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Develop and communicate a clear platform strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional stakeholders without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Identify modernization, automation, and innovation opportunities.
  • Establish governance guardrails that enable business productivity while managing risk.
  • Guide managed services teams to deliver high-quality service.
  • Provide technical leadership and informed platform decision-making.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in adoption, user satisfaction, governance maturity, and operational effectiveness.

Stakeholder Management & Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary interface between IT and business stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into platform capabilities and governance standards.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, communications, roadmap discussions, and service reviews.
  • Drive platform adoption through relationship management, communication, and education.

Innovation & Platform Strategy

  • Develop and maintain the SharePoint Online roadmap.
  • Evaluate emerging Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online capabilities.
  • Lead modernization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Define success metrics and business outcomes for platform investments.

Platform Ownership & Governance

  • Serve as the principal SharePoint Online SME and platform owner.
  • Define standards for governance, information architecture, lifecycle management, metadata, taxonomy, and permissions.
  • Partner with Security, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, and Compliance teams to manage risk.

Managed Services Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate managed services teams.
  • Establish operational processes, controls & guidelines documentation, process maps & flows documentation, escalation procedures, and service standards.
  • Monitor service quality, operational performance, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical guidance and evaluate platform solution recommendations.
  • Lead automation initiatives utilizing Power Automate, PowerShell, and Microsoft Graph.
  • Ensure platform alignment with enterprise architecture and identity management standards.

Key Qualifcations Summary

  • Enterprise SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 platform leadership experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and business relationship skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion abilities.
  • Experience leading managed services teams or vendor-supported environments.
  • Expertise in governance, information architecture, metadata, taxonomy, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience developing modernization roadmaps, driving automation, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Technical credibility with SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, Power Automate, PowerShell, and Microsoft Graph.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of SharePoint Online and/or Microsoft 365 platform experience.
  • Experience leading enterprise collaboration platforms.
  • Experience managing managed services resources or vendors.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with SharePoint governance, information architecture, metadata, and platform operations.
  • Experience developing platform roadmaps, modernization strategies, and operational standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading SharePoint Online modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with Power Automate, PnP PowerShell, and Microsoft Graph.
  • Experience integrating SharePoint Online with identity and lifecycle management processes including Entra ID, Workday, SailPoint.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale governance and compliance programs.


Salary range $120,000 to $135,000. Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location. Our company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus eligibility on top of base.
