Position Summary:

Dee Zee, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Reliability Engineering Intern to support equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This internship will run approximately June 1 through September 3, 2027, with flexibility to adjust the start and end dates based on the selected candidate's availability.

This internship offers hands-on engineering experience focused on equipment performance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement while learning how maintenance and engineering work together to support safe and efficient operations.

May involve occasional work in production areas, which can include exposure to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise levels, and fluctuating temperatures.

Accountabilities:

  • Assist with preventive maintenance and equipment reliability initiatives for production equipment and facility systems.
  • Help track and analyze work orders, maintenance records, equipment history, and downtime data using company software.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment issues under the guidance of maintenance and engineering personnel.
  • Participate in projects focused on improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and increasing maintenance effectiveness.
  • Assist with evaluating preventive maintenance activities and identifying opportunities for process or equipment improvements.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, quality, safety, and production teams to support equipment performance and continuous improvement.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to industrial equipment and mechanical, electrical, and other systems used in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.

  • Interest in equipment reliability, manufacturing engineering, maintenance, or continuous improvement.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and an interest in understanding how industrial equipment and systems operate.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP, CMMS, data analysis, or maintenance software is a plus.

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment exposed to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and variable temperatures.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
