Job Description: 

Tomball Controls is seeking a detail-oriented Saw Operator to cut and prepare metal materials for fabrication and assembly. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate cuts, maintaining equipment, and supporting shop operations in a safe and efficient manner. 

• Operate band saws and other cutting equipment to cut metal materials to specified dimensions  
• Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and cut lists  
• Measure and verify material sizes to ensure accuracy  
• Load/unload materials and stage for fabrication or assembly  
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saw equipment  
• Maintain a clean and organized work area  
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE  
• Assist with general shop duties as needed 

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred 
• Experience operating saws or similar shop equipment preferred  
• Ability to read tape measures and basic drawings  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy  
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical tasks  
• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work in a team environment  
• Experience in fabrication, industry, or controls environment  
• Familiarity with different metals and cutting techniques 
• Prolonged periods of working outdoors. 
• Prolonged exposure to the outside elements and weather conditions.
