Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE 
To monitor the process in the area of responsibility to ensure equipment and control parameters are functioning as designed. To ensure the process is operated in a safe and efficient manner.

II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  1. Troubleshoot electrical equipment malfunctions
  2. Repair electrical equipment & systems
  3. Install electrical equipment and control devices/circuits
  4. Run electrical conduit, cable tray with associated fitting and wirings
  5. Calibrate protective relays and transducers
  6. Troubleshoot and program various V.F.D.
  7. Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in various laboratory equipment
  8. Work outside normal shift hours as needed.
  9. Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  10. Adhere to all company policies and procedures including but not limited to, ISO, personnel, quality, environmental, health, safety, regulatory and company requirements.
  11. Comply with NTG (Nothing Touching the Ground) requirements. Including daily audits.
  12. Be active in Operation Clean Sweep, and ensure employees are aware of and accountable for pellet loss prevention, containment, cleanup and disposal.
  13. Other tasks and duties assigned by Supervisor to perform test and PM on following equipment:
  • 480V, 4160V and 13.SKV SWGR
  • 13.SKV Capacitor Banks
  • 13.8/4.16KV and 13.8KV/480V Transformers
  • 1000 HP 500V DC Motor and Controller
  • 4160V and 480V MCC
  • UPS System
  • 480V, 4160V and 13.SKV Motors

Ill. QUALIFICATIONS

A. TECHNICAL JOB CRITERIA

1. Previous Related Experience Required

2 years of Electrical experience and a high school diploma or equivalent; Or Associate's degree in Electrical or related fields

2. Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job

  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Safety Certification or safety classes a plus but not required.
  • VFD and programming experience a plus but not required.
  • Troubleshooting and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently
  • Preventive maintenance knowledge
  • Good communication skills
  • Accountability and reliability
  • Self-motivated, curious and eager to learn

 

3. Education 

 

  1. High School diploma or equivalent
  2. Valid Driver's License
  3. An Associate's degree in Electrical or related fields or an NCCER Certification or a minimum of two (2) years of plant electrical maintenance experience.

 

4. Other Certification/Training Required

  • Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.
  • Current employees must meet all technical and safety training requirements for current position, as specified in the Master Training Plan.
