Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Operator to support critical IT operations in an onsite environment. The candidate will function as a Level 1 Incident Manager, monitoring systems, responding to technology incidents, and coordinating with IT teams, customers, and vendors.

The ideal candidate should have strong IBM Mainframe operations and monitoring experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a shift-based operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical IT incidents and events.
• Quickly create, triage, escalate, document, and track technology-related incidents.
• Monitor infrastructure connectivity, assets, services, and system availability using graphical monitoring tools.
• Monitor IBM Mainframe control consoles and periodically check system performance.
• Assist with the review and validation of Mainframe Job Control Language (JCL).
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with IT staff, customers, and vendors.
• Respond to system alerts and operational issues according to established procedures.
• Perform assigned deliveries and other operational support activities.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail in a production environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience working as a Mainframe Operator, Mainframe Operations Analyst, or Mainframe Support professional.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Mainframe environments.
• Knowledge of JCL (Job Control Language).
• Experience with Incident Management / Level 1 Support.
• Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, and escalation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Teams.
• Experience with one or more monitoring tools such as:
  • WhatsUp Gold
  • Pingdom
  • PRTG

Work Authorization

• Only U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders will be considered.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Additional Requirements

• 100% onsite position in Pontiac, MI.
• No work-from-home option.
• Must be flexible to work days, afternoons, midnight shifts, and holidays as required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be comfortable working in a production operations environment.
