POSITION PURPOSE: 聽Maintenance Technician鈥檚 primary responsibility is to install, maintain, upgrade, and repair machinery in accordance with the manufacture recommendations and design plans. 聽Individuals in this position strive to accomplish precision repairs and maintain machinery to best condition.聽 聽 |
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: 聽路聽 聽 聽 聽聽Works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Engineers to聽accomplish the goals and objectives of the department.聽 路聽 聽聽Required to remove, disassemble and install machinery and equipment such as presses, pumps, balers, agitators, gear boxes, motors, roller conveyors, vibrating conveyors using hoists, pulleys, dollies, rollers, and trucks.聽 路聽 聽 聽 聽Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts. 聽聽 路聽 聽聽Align machines and equipment, using laser alignment equipment, hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs. 聽聽 路聽 聽 聽 聽聽Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools. 聽聽 路聽 聽 聽 聽聽Lay out mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes with power drill. 聽聽 路聽 聽 聽Replace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts. 聽Level bedplate and establish centerline, using straightedge, levels, and transit.聽 路聽 聽聽Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit, using hand tools, pneumatic, electric and hydraulic power tools.聽 路聽 聽 聽 聽聽Troubleshoots and repair pumps, turbines, compressors and gearboxes per manufacture recommendations.聽 路聽 聽 聽 聽Coordinates assigned work with other craft groups and the production department as needed.聽聽 路聽 聽 聽 聽Complies with all plant safety rules and reports all incidents and events to immediate supervision for corrective action.聽 路聽 聽Attends all departmental safety meetings and actively supports & participates in safety programs and implementations.聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽聽 路聽 聽Complies with all聽Lion Elastomers'聽plant policies, procedures & practices applicable to the Maintenance Department.聽 路聽 聽 聽聽Participates in various company and regulatory training designed to improve plant processes and/or increase unit production.聽 路聽 聽 聽聽Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.聽聽 路聽 聽 聽 聽聽Performs other related duties as assigned. |
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 聽 |
聽
Education: 聽 聽High School Diploma, Some College, Technical School or NCCER (or equivalent) certification a Plus.
聽
Related Experience: 聽 3 Years Minimum in an industrial environment with related on-the-job experience in a related discipline, Prior聽experience must include being knowledgeable in process manufacturing, plant safety rules & regulations, Process Safety Management (PSM), environmental compliance standards, and site quality processes.聽

The incumbent must possess a high level of mechanical aptitude, be an effective communicator, possess basic computer competencies, and be capable & willing to work overtime and holidays, as may be required. 聽The individual must also have the ability to work in confined spaces and from elevated areas within the plant. 聽In addition, this individual must be able to think clearly and solve multifaceted problems in the field with personnel of various degrees of skill levels, education and training.
