Acorn Engineering, Inc., a Maine-based, 100% employee-owned civil engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture firm has a full-time opportunity for a Survey Project Manager for the Survey Department in their Portland office.

  

Responsibilities include:


  • Responsibility for all aspects of various survey projects 
  • Responsible for Client Interaction
  • Data organization & compilation in relation to project financial performance in support of Director of Land Surveying
  • Hybrid Field and Office Workload
  • Data Processing and Adjustment
  • Review & Drafting of Survey Plans


Acorn’s survey projects include:


  • Rural & Urban Boundary Surveying
  • Construction Layout
  • ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
  • Floodplain and Watershed Restoration
  • Elevation Certificates
  • Stream Crossing/Bridge Surveys
  • Deformation Monitoring

Requirements

       

Capabilities and Credentials

  • 5 Years of industry experience preferred
  • PLS or similar experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Client interaction or customer service experience   preferred.
  • Robust understanding of boundary evidence collection
  • Robust understanding of construction layout
  • Robust understanding of COGO/survey calculations in field
  • Ability to collect & maintain data to client   or company standards
  • Ability to effectively coordinate with multiple crews, clients, & project teams.


  • Compliance with company/site, and OSHA safety standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Carlson, & Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work outdoors, on busy construction sites, exposed to environmental conditions including heat, cold, precipitation and noise.
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • Robust knowledge of Traditional Traverse Techniques, Base and Rover GNSS Data Collection Knowledge and applications required
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of civil drawings, construction processes and construction codes preferred 
  • Willingness to learn and apply new techniques
  • Valid driver’s license required
