Job Summary
The Solder Technician Lead is responsible for performing a wide variety of solder and supervisory activities. Knowledge of multiple solder techniques and methods is an important element of this position. The Solder Technician Lead will assist in decisions regarding people, material, equipment and workflow, based on changes in product demand and mix requirements. This role may also need to set up, operate, and maintain related machinery and equipment.Â
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Â Solder and Quality Maintenance and Verification
- Visually inspect products to identify quality of solder joints and ensure conformance by Solder Technicians performing reworks.
- Ensure efficient completion of individual tasks and group workload.Â
- Set up solder team by collecting materials and assigning work orders to team members.Â
- Perform quality checks within team and other duties as needed or assigned.Â
- Â Team Supervision and TrainingÂ
- Ensure all employees abide by safety regulationsÂ
- Assign work to employees and work alongside employees on the production line to meet production goals.Â
- Train employees on the procedure to assemble products per assigned role for the day.Â
- Escalate production issues to Production Supervisor or Production manager as needed.Â
- Â DocumentationÂ
- Prepare documents regarding team and quality checks and request additional components for solder team as needed to achieve goals and maintain productivity.
Job Requirements:
- Â Education and Certifications
- High School diploma or equivalent education required.Â
- Â Technical Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Â
- Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office program suite.Â
- Knowledge of IPC Standards strongly preferred.
- Professional ExperienceÂ
- Minimum of 5 years’ professional soldering experience.
- Proven leadership skills through prior managerial/supervisory experience.Â

- Â The employee is frequently required to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, keyboards or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.Â
- The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, and may also be required to stoop or kneel.Â
