As a Research Technician here at Solstice Pottsville, you will conduct experiments, collect data, and maintain lab equipment, ensuring accurate research findings to drive innovation and new technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans, prepares and executes process development trials on resin pelletizing, film extrusion and film slitting lines
  • Performs tests on films and resins 
  • Records and reports trial process data
  • Supports R&D efforts by maintaining inventory records, preparing and shipping samples, creating Purchase requisitions
  • A basic knowledge of extrusion equipment, set up, running and disassembly/cleaning. 
  • Requires both working independently and working closely with Technology Engineers and R&D group technicians, Operations, Quality as well as the broader business and Technology teams. 
  • Candidate should be detail oriented, have good communication skills, and be able to follow written and oral instructions to accomplish multiple tasks safely.

Some travel (approx 10%) may be required; may require occasional shift coverage (2nd or 3rd shifts) to support production trials

  • Collect and analyze data, and prepare reports on findings
  • Assist in the development and improvement of prototypes and products
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of film extrusion with web handling experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 
  • Strong commitment to HSE policies and procedures

WE VALUE

  • 6 Sigma certification a plus
  • Demonstrated ability in creative problem solving/troubleshooting

COMPENSATION

The annual base pay range for this position is $50,000-$72,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice Advanced Materials considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
