We are currently looking for an expereinced Production Supervisor (2nd shift) to join the team in our Poynette Manufacturing facility. Our ideal candidate is someone who leads with people first — someone who knows how to support a team, build trust, and keep operations running smoothly, but also isn’t afraid to jump in and get their hands dirty. This role is for a leader who thrives on the floor, communicates clearly, solves problems in real time, and brings a steady, team‑focused presence to their shift.

This role requires 100% onsite commitment (Poynette) and the abilty to work 2nd shift (3-11, M-F).
Responsibilities
Leadership and Operations:Â
- Lead daily production operations across shifts while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met
- Collaborate with other departments and shifts to support production flow and resolve constraints
- Open and shut down buildings at shift start/end and supervise weekend operations as needed
- Maintain awareness of all processes, equipment, and staffing changes
- Create, manage, and maintain production schedules and staffing reports
- Allocate production and labor based on part constraints, breakdowns, and outages
Safety, Compliance and 5S:
- Lead 5S projects and maintain plant safety and cleanliness standards
- Provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce all safety protocols
- Conduct daily safety audits, Gemba walks, and safety form submissions
- Perform accident investigations, safety observations, and incident documentation
- Reasonable suspicion checks and escalating protocol as needed
- Troubleshoot issues and communication prior to maintenance escalation
- Submit maintenance work orders (non-urgent issues)
Employee Management and HR Functions:
- Track and report employee attendance and labor movement; discipline as needed
- Review, edit, and approved punches and timecards; verify weekend punches before Monday
- Approve, edit, or deny time off requests and maintain vacation calendars
- Conduct interviews and participate in hiring decisions as needed
- Collaborate with HR and/or management regarding employee discipline, PIPs, conflict resolution, terminations, and other employment-related issues
- Assist employees with forms and requests
- Engage with employees, address concerns, and gather feedback
Training and Development
- Develop training plans for new employees and maintain training records and logs
- Mentor and train Team Leads, backup leads, and other employees
- Support new hire onboarding, internships, plant tours, and floor orientations
- Plan and coordinate specialty role training (Helix, Water Panels, Frame Lead, Brazer)
- Participate in leadership development and continuing education
Production Performance and Reporting
- Track attainment numbers and explain performance variances
- Monitor training times, downtime, setup time, SPC checks, and MES system data
- Verify production numbers and investigate/address performance misses
- Complete daily Kanban, LMT, and 5S roadmap activities
- Prepare pass-down files and attainment reports
- Complete projects as assigned
Quality, Inventory, and Materials
- Complete Quality forms and transactions; support Quality department and processes as needed
- Manage RGAs, rework, forklift damage reports, and part shortages
- Print and update unit labels and troubleshoot label needs
- Communicate part outages and update communication boards/tabs
- Assist receiving and shipping operations when warehouse supervisor is unavailable
Systems, IT, and Equipment Support
- Troubleshoot mechanical and equipment issues prior to maintenance involvement
- Troubleshoot IT, vision, tester, and scan-to-pack systems prior to support department involvement
- Modify production related systems parameters as needed or authorized
- Stay informed on outages, system changes, and department updates
Communication and Administration
- Attend and lead meetings (daily meetings, Webex, Town Halls, in-person)
- Respond promptly to emails, messages, and meeting invites
- Communicate via email, text, phone, and Webex before, during, and after work hours
- Answer, transfer, and direct phone calls professionally
- Communicate with vendors and other locations (e.g. Westport) regarding returns or labeling issues
- Coordinate deviations with Engineering and pull drawings/documents as required
Qualifications
Â
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Supervisory Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- One to three years of management/supervision experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience in union environment is a bonus
- Knowledge of and experience with integrated manufacturing systems
- Strong computer and software skills
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to effectively present information and engage in problem solving with large groups and respond to questions from managers, customers, vendors, or other employees within the organization
- Exceptional problem-solving ability
