Wonderlic Assessment:

In the early stages of our hiring process after an application is submitted, a pre-employment assessment called Wonderlic is sent to all qualified candidates. This 45-minute assessment is a required step in our selection process to help us better understand fit for the position by defining strengths, motivational fit and work style. The Groundskeeper/Porter is responsible for efficiently maintaining the physical appearance of the apartment community’s grounds, pools, and buildings.

What You’ll Do…

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of grounds and common areas.
• Aware of the condition of the property at all times and take immediate steps to correct unsafe and unclean conditions.
• Assist maintenance in maintaining a clean and orderly shop. 
• Participate in an ongoing community improvement plan and a preventive maintenance program. 
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Community and Service Manager.

Requirements

What You Need to Succeed…

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ years of property maintenance experience preferred.
• Maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, visitors, contractors, and fellow employees.
• Communicate clearly to residents and respond to resident’s service requests and concerns in a timely, professional manner.
• Can use power and hand tools effectively and safely when completing maintenance tasks.
• Must have time management skills to successfully navigate frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, be accountable for actions, self-motivated.
• Possible travel to other properties owned by Avanti Residential to help sister communities.
• Frequent contact with residents of all backgrounds.
• Pass criminal background screening prior to employment.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and up-to-date vehicle insurance OR reliable transportation is required.
• If minimum qualifications are met during resume screening the Wonderlic pre-employment assessment is required. The assessment will arrive in the email inbox that you provided.
