Regenerative Agriculture Professional - Aroostook County

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is seeking a collaborative and innovative Regenerative Agriculture Professional to support Maine's agricultural community in Aroostook County. Knowledge and Skill Qualifications We Are Looking For:
Required:

These are required knowledge and skills so be sure that you demonstrate how you meet each one in your resume or cover letter. 

• Master's Degree with a focus in agriculture or a closely related discipline.
• Experience in teaching/training with adult audiences.
• Ability to communicate effectively using oral, written, and electronic methods.
• Demonstrated computer and educational technology skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in an autonomous work environment as well work effectively as part of a team, and able to achieve and document measurable results.
• Demonstrated management, organizational, and facilitation skills, including the ability to handle conflict.
• Demonstrated skills at collaborating with other agencies and organizations.
• Ability to travel normally, (within the State of Maine/both within and outside the State of Maine, etc.), requiring a valid driver's license. Mileage is reimbursed at the current University rate.
• Ability to occasionally lift 30 to 50 pounds.

Preferred: 

These are preferred knowledge and skills we are looking for but do not exclude you from the job if you don’t have this experience.

• Knowledge of University of Maine Cooperative Extension and its educational programs.
• Knowledge of the commercial potato industry in Maine.
• Demonstrated skills in designing and delivering community-based educational programs with an emphasis on subjects related to regenerative agriculture.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse audiences and knowledge of equal opportunity, affirmative action, and civil rights.
• Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Work Schedule: 

Normal UMaine Cooperative Extension office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To meet the needs of the program some schedule flexibility will be necessary, including some evening and occasional weekend work throughout the state. The employee will establish regular office hours and in consultation with the supervisor, adjust the work schedule as necessary.
