HEALTHCARE PROCESS COORDINATOR POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will assist the Health Services Administrator and Director of Nursing in development, implementation and completion of a compliance auditing system to provide ongoing and systematic review of areas including but not limited to the following: patient and family care inquiries and concerns, offender grievances, client inquiries, offender requests to staff, disaster preparedness and planning, accreditation, quality improvement activities and associated performance improvement planning, credentialing, gathering and reporting of healthcare statistics, staffing and labor management, compliance with key performance indicators and other administrative duties as assigned to assist in fulfilling contractual requirements. 


HEALTHCARE PROCESS COORDINATOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Follows all related federal, state, correctional health care, VCHS and DOC policies, regulations and guidelines 
  • Responsible for gathering and organizing data from all departments and preparing monthly reports for submission 
  • Studies reports, processes and practices to identify areas of concern and works with the Health Services Administrator and Director of Nursing to create quality improvement projects that will ensure the organization is meeting standards. 
  • Promotes awareness of key performance indicators through monthly education at all staff meetings and organizes clinics/workshops to educate and inform staff members. 
  • Reviews site health care statistical reports to ensure problems are identified and corrective actions taken. 
  • Completes monthly on-site quality assurance evaluations and submits audits to the regional QI team as scheduled 
  • Completes responses to intra-facility grievances and Form-9s within timeframes outlined in KSA and IMPP 
  • Completes responses to client inquiries and family inquiries as assigned by Kansas Regional Office and Site Leadership 
  • Monitors staff credentialing for required licensure and training 
  • Continually monitors compliance with key performance indicators outlined in comprehensive healthcare contract 
  • Continually reviews VitalCore medical data and compares with other organizations.
  •  Assists staff in the preparation for quality assurance audits. Attends training and meetings as required. 
  • Demonstrates proficiency in all company software required for the position. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

HEALTHCARE PROCESS COORDINATOR REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in criminal justice, the social sciences, business or the behavioral sciences or related experience.
  • Two years’ experience in collecting, evaluating, studying or reporting on statistical, economic, fiscal/budget, legislative or administrative data. 
  • Knowledge of Correctional healthcare principles and practices preferred; along with knowledge of applicable state and federal laws. 
  • Knowledge of the principles and methodologies used in collection, analysis and presentations of data. 
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with quality improvement methods and tools. 
  • Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification. 
  • Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance 
  • Proficient computer skills. 
  • Must be fluent in English language, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding. 
  • Must be a supportive team member, who contributes to and demonstrates teamwork and team concept. 
  • Able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. 
  • Able to deal tactfully with personnel, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public, as required for position.  
  • If leadership role, must possess leadership and supervisory ability and be able to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel. 
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

  • The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus; and must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information.
