Job DetailsJob Location: New Kent - Providence Forge, VA 23140Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $20.00 - $24.00 HourlyESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS, AND FUNCTIONS The duties, tasks, and functions listed below combine to help define this position within the Company but should not be interpreted as exhaustive of all responsibilities the position may require. This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties, tasks, and functions. • Help maintain and repair the electronic components and equipment used in any equipment or device that involves electricity after completion of new construction. • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. • Inspect and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. • Perform rough in and trim out punches. • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. • Drive Company vehicle to job sites safely and obeying all traffic laws. • Contact homeowners when enroute to warranty calls. • Communicate professionally and clearly with builders and customers as needed. • Coordinate with site scheduler and construction managers regarding jobs. • Perform “on call” services on a rotating basis including but not limited to carrying the on-call phone and answering and returning calls promptly, evaluating calls to determine emergency status, and traveling to “emergency” situations and performing services after hours as needed. • Upholds and adheres to all Company safety policies and procedures. • Other duties as required. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the above-listed duties, tasks, and functions. • Associate’s degree from an accredited technical school; or comprehensive electrician apprenticeship training program completion with direct work experience; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Reliable transportation to and from work. • Valid US issued Driver's License. • A US Driving Record that passes the Company’s insurance carrier’s approval requirements to drive for the Company. • A current electrician’s license or identification card is preferred. • The ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written. • Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. TRAVEL Travel will include the branch location’s service territory with occasional trips to the headquarters office in North Charleston, SC. Must be physically able to perform maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which include but are not limited to the ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds Must have the ability to pass a urine drug test and background check. Must be able to provide a clean driving record. Bilingual a plus.
