Job Summary

The Providence Center Assistant Manager I ACT Harmony Team (CCBHC) supports daily operations for their team, including staff supervision, scheduling, performance monitoring, and compliance with program and regulatory standards to ensure continuity and quality of care. This includes providing leadership and performing direct service duties when applicable. The Assistant Manager I CCBHC helps to sustain a continuum of care that promotes recovery, diverts clients from hospitalization when clinically appropriate, supports timely step-down services for those transitioning from inpatient care, and coordinates appropriate client services with Emergency Services and community partners.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager with daily operations, workflow management, and departmental support.
  • Help with staff scheduling, productivity oversight, and general administrative coordination.
  • Assist with running morning and clinical meetings; facilitate these meetings in absence of the Manager.
  • Assist in monitoring caseloads, documentation quality, service delivery standards, and staff productivity. (See addendum for program standards)
  • Support onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training of new and existing staff.
  • Provide supervision of team members as directed by leadership.
  • Support staff with crisis intervention, risk assessments, and service coordination.
  • Complete or support client intakes, assessments, and person‑centered treatment planning.
  • Deliver or support recovery‑oriented clinical services and daily living skills assistance.
  • Help in troubleshooting client and staff concerns, providing follow-up as needed.
  • Support staff hiring, onboarding, training, development, and performance evaluations.
  • Address performance issues, assist in providing coaching to team members and promote a collaborative, professional team culture. May collaborate with HR partners on disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Conduct or participate in community outreach visits, home visits, and client accompaniment to appointments.
  • Transport clients safely in accordance with agency policies when needed.
  • Coordinate services internally and with external providers, advocating client needs across systems.
  • Assist clients with benefits acquisition, housing needs, budgeting, and other essential supports.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation including notes, plans of care, and adherence to confidentiality and safety protocols.
  • Participate in audits, record reviews, and quality‑improvement activities.
  • Complete required reports, approve timesheets in absence of the Manager, and support billing and productivity oversight.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, leadership, and community partners; communicate updates as needed.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings and participate in committees as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support client goals and program needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required; Master's Degree Preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with behavioral health diagnoses in a community support setting.
  • Experience in program management related to assertive community treatment or similar teams a plus.
  • RI licensure preferred: LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMHC-A, LMFT, LMFT-A, LCDP
  • Must have valid driver's license, registration, current inspection and insured automobile.
  • This position may be based at various Center locations, community or client home settings.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of individuals with mental health issues, their families, and family systems.
  • Ability to provide leadership and supervision.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, including ability to use Microsoft Excel, with capability in interpreting reports.
  • Experience with various treatment modalities, including evidence-based therapies and standardized tools such as PHQ-9, C-SSRS, etc.
  • Skilled in crisis assessment, risk management, and de-escalation.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and calm demeanor during emergencies.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Proficiency in documentation and electronic record-keeping systems, including ability to document in electronic medical records.
  • Capable of working collaboratively with community partners and in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to convey information clearly and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, representatives from outside agencies and the public.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with diverse individuals and community partners.
  • Cultural competence and commitment to providing equitable and inclusive services.
  • Highly motivated, independent, and self-directed.
  • Ability to travel within the community with reliable transportation.
