Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Paramedic FFL ALS/BLS Transport I and member of the Transport Crew, you will assist in meeting the physical and emotional needs of ill and injured patients, while promoting the safe and efficient operation of Flight For Life. Every day you will provide direct ALS/BLS patient care during transport, assess patient conditions, administer medications, operate medical equipment, and ensure adherence to safety protocols for Flight For Life operations. To be successful in this role, you will possess your Paramedic certification, strong clinical skills in ALS/BLS, the ability to perform under pressure, and a commitment to patient safety and the efficient operation of critical transport services.Performs a survey of lifethreatening conditions as well as secondary physical assessment, including medical history, current medications, and allergies. 

 

  • At the direction of the ANM, delivers appropriate transport care for medications and respiratory therapies, within the limits of the FFL Patient Care Guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compassion in interactions with families and patients.
  • Documents patient care activities in a timely manner, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Assists in providing a safe environment and operations essential to the health and wellbeing of all individuals in the medical transport environment, including universal precautions, and ambulance safety.
  • Ensures decontamination of the vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensures the ambulance is equipped and stocked.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Paramedic Current Colorado State Paramedic Certification and National Registry certification as a Paramedic
  • Must maintain currency in all certifications required by CAMTS (Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems)
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVOC or CVEO) within six (6) months of hire/transfer
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass the annual driving record review for safe vehicle operations
