Shift: 1st shift + overtime as needed

Position Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Reliability Tech supports maximum plant reliability by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role uses multi-craft maintenance knowledge to support ThermoSafe’s Maintenance Excellence Process through proactive maintenance, root cause analysis, equipment improvements, and timely corrective action. The IMRT helps minimize unplanned downtime, improve equipment performance, and support safe, reliable, and efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with all safety policies and procedures while setting the standard for safe work practices and actively identifying opportunities to reduce risks and hazards.
  • Proactively maintain, improve, install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, robotic/automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and location-specific steam systems, equipment, and processes to support operational reliability.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain AC and DC drives, motors, PLC programs, industrial controls, and related equipment to ensure reliable production performance.
  • Safely evaluate equipment issues and failures, determine the most effective corrective actions, and execute repairs that minimize repeat failures and improve equipment reliability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives, and contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures in pursuit of zero unplanned failures.
  • Communicate effectively with operations teams to identify abnormal or degraded equipment conditions that may impact safety, quality, productivity, or asset performance.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support asset history, reliability tracking, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards within work areas, personal ownership areas, and areas managed by the Maintenance Department.

Qualifications

  • Industrial maintenance experience, experience in a relevant industrial environment, or military experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proactive maintenance and reliability mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics, including PLC program logic.
  • Working knowledge of electrical work performed in accordance with NFPA 70E standards; experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial controls, and motor controls is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple tasks on an off-shift schedule, work overtime as needed including weekends, and perform the physical requirements of the role, including climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Preferred

  • Technical degree, certification, or apprenticeship in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred. 
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs, industrial controls, AC/DC drives, and automated manufacturing equipment preferred. 
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S methodology, continuous improvement practices, and workplace organization initiatives.


Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This position requires regular standing and walking throughout the workday and involves repetitious duties in a manufacturing environment. Employees frequently use their hands and arms to perform job duties and may occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, speak, and hear. The role requires the ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment that is not temperature-controlled. Employees may be exposed to varying indoor temperatures and seasonal conditions typical of an industrial production setting. The work environment may also involve exposure to moving mechanical equipment, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and elevated noise levels. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory and hearing protection, may be required based on job assignments and work area conditions.
