Description
Chevo is hiring a Technical Writer/Communications Specialist to support a DHS customer. You will be responsible for writing and editing a variety of technical and marketing documents, as well as maintaining the customer’s SharePoint and Teams sites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support development of artifacts for communicating the Department-wide Innovation, Research, and Development (IRD) Strategic Plan and implementation with strategic stakeholders.
- Support development of governance artifacts resulting from Innovation, Research, and Development Coordination (IRDC) Process forums, to include decision memoranda.
- Maintain the DHS IRDC Council website on DHS Connect.
- Maintain the Portfolio Management Branch Teams Site.
- Support the development and execution of broadcasts via MS Teams for monthly Mission Monday briefings involving Component guest speakers.
- Provide technical review and edits of PowerPoint presentations, MS Word and Excel documents, and Adobe Pro documents
- Utilize writing style guides provided by DHS.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Active secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- 3+ years of experience providing technical writing and/or communications support.
- High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, applications, and services, including but not limited to Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- High level of proficiency in the use of Adobe Pro.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting DHS or a Federal research and development program.
- DHS suitability.
Work Environment:
Work will be performed onsite at St. Elizabeth's Campus in SE DC. Due to the sensitive nature of the work environment, candidates must have an active Secret clearance. Hybrid may be an option but is not guaranteed.
Occasional travel outside of the DC metro area may be required.
SALARY RANGE: $80K To $90K (subject to change)
