Job Description

The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Human Health Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

Global Market Access (GMAx) is dedicated to saving and improving lives worldwide by enabling broad, timely, and sustainable patient access that reflects the value of our innovation.

Within GMAx, the Sustainable Access Solutions (SAS) team develops innovative approaches to remove barriers that stand between patients and our company's breakthrough treatments. SAS is organized into three capability groups:

  • Access Contracting Enablement (ACE)

  • Customer Collaborations

  • Private Market Access (PMA) — the focus of this internship

The private market is expanding globally as public healthcare systems increasingly struggle to fund innovative treatments. Developing solutions for this challenge is essential to ensuring sustainable patient access, even in private settings. Acting as a Center of Excellence (CoE), the PMA team works to:

  • Size private market potential and funding gaps across regions and therapeutic areas (TAs)

  • Develop financing solutions to help close these gaps

  • Report private market sales performance

  • Identify and track emerging private market trends

About the Internship

This internship offers a unique opportunity to explore the pharmaceutical industry and gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of market access. You'll collaborate with dedicated professionals on real-world projects that have global impact, while benefiting from mentorship and networking opportunities that support your professional growth.

The program is designed to build and strengthen your skills in business-oriented analytics, project management, and strategic thinking — preparing you for a future career in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

Lasting up to 12 weeks, the internship will include one or more meaningful projects within the PMA (Private Market Access) team. Along the way, you'll deepen your understanding of healthcare systems and regulations while developing capabilities in research and data analysis, strategy development and execution, and project management.

What You'll Do

You'll work both independently and collaboratively alongside market access leaders, franchise colleagues, and cross-functional partners across the organization. Your project scope will include:

1. Market Research

  • Enhance our understanding of private market potential by identifying additional, realistically obtainable insights and determining how they can inform meaningful decisions

  • Present a set of recommendations along with a proposed approach for putting them into action

2. Trendspotting

  • Map the evolution of private markets across our main therapeutic areas and market archetypes — identifying the direction private markets are taking, by TA and region, and what this means in terms of opportunity for the company

  • Generate novel, actionable insights

  • Deliver a compelling summary of these insights and strategic recommendations, outlining the actions needed to capture emerging opportunities. What would it take to pursue these opportunities from a solutions and partnerships perspective?

We're looking for a self-motivated, talented individual who will bring a fresh perspective to our team — and leave with a stronger understanding of what access truly means for patients and payers.
