Oversees the day-to-day execution and coordination of global logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring the timely and compliant movement of raw materials, finished goods, clinical products, and associated documentation from source through manufacturing, distribution, and customer delivery. Manages transportation activities, inventory transactions, import/export operations, trade compliance requirements, and third-party logistics relationships to support business and customer needs. Monitors supply chain performance, resolves operational challenges, and drives process improvements to enhance service levels, product traceability, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Partners cross-functionally with manufacturing, planning, quality, suppliers, carriers, and customers to ensure seamless supply chain execution and operational excellence.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and monitoring Eisai's logistics supply chain activities for commercial and clinical pharmaceutical products, including domestic transportation and import operations.

The Global Logistics Coordinator serves as a key liaison between Eisai and its global Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) partners, providing shipment coordination, communication, and routing instructions for products delivered to designated distribution facilities. The role also coordinates domestic inbound transportation activities with Eisai's third-party logistics (3PL) providers, including carrier selection, shipping documentation, routing instructions, and receipt confirmation to Supply Managers.

In addition, the position oversees the review and processing of shipping documentation, regulatory filings, communications, and ERP transactions associated with domestic and import shipments to ensure accurate product traceability throughout the supply chain. The role operates in compliance with applicable U.S. regulations and CTPAT requirements and requires familiarity with various government agencies and documentation, including U.S. Customs, DEA, FDA, and USDA requirements.

Additional responsibilities include coordinating customs brokerage activities, managing communications with freight forwarders and logistics service providers throughout the transportation process, supporting carrier selection from port of entry to distribution centers, maintaining required records and filings, and assisting with internal and external audit activities.


Essential Functions:

  • Review commercial and pro forma invoices, USDA statements, packing slips, and domestic bills of lading to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Create and maintain packing slips and Bills of Lading (BOLs) for domestic transportation activities.
  • Review, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), routing guides, and Work Instruction Documents (WIDs).
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs, FDA, USDA, and DEA requirements and support timely customs clearance and inventory release for imported products.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adherence to CTPAT requirements and supply chain security standards.
  • Coordinate and resolve issues related to hazardous materials transportation and shipping compliance.
  • Oversee domestic and international transportation activities to support timely and compliant movement of materials and products.
  • Monitor and manage SAP/ERP transactions interfacing with Eisai's third-party logistics (3PL) provider, including receipts, inventory adjustments, shipments, and returns.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory balances and product traceability.
  • Maintain shipping and compliance records and ensure documentation is reviewed, filed, and retained in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and responding to logistics-related inquiries.

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred; in lieu of a degree, a minimum of five (5) years of relevant logistics or supply chain experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in global logistics, transportation, and trade compliance preferred.
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated industry environment preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Import compliance certification or related trade compliance training preferred.
  • Experience with hazardous materials transportation; applicable certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with SAP warehouse management and ERP systems.
  • Working knowledge of FDA, USDA, CBP, and other applicable regulatory requirements governing the movement of pharmaceutical products.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, U.S. Customs import processes, FDA product codes, and regulatory recordkeeping requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize multiple activities, and manage competing deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation, compliance, and system transactions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, third-party logistics providers, contract manufacturing organizations, carriers, and other external business partners.

Eisai Salary Transparency Language:

The hourly rate for the Global Logistics Coordinator is from :$25-$32

Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in : Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan.

Final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, and skills.
