**THIS IS A CONFIDENTIAL OPENING**
Trusted manufacturer of high-strength, engineered fasteners for the automotive industry. Utilizing world-class cold-forging techniques, we produce custom bolts, nuts, screws, and rivets engineered to withstand high-vibration and extreme-temperature environments. From traditional internal combustion engines to next-generation electric vehicles, we supply OEMs with zero-defect, traceable hardware designed for seamless automated assembly.
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Automotive Quality Engineer to oversee and elevate our manufacturing quality control systems. In this role, you will ensure our high-strength fasteners meet rigorous IATF 16949 and OEM-specific standards. You will bridge the gap between production and engineering, leading root-cause analyses, managing PPAP submissions, and ensuring a zero-defect (Zero-PPM) output for our global automotive clients.
Key Responsibilities
- PPAP & APQP Management: Lead the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and orchestrate the compilation and submission of comprehensive Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Level 3 packages.
- Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions: Drive problem-solving initiatives for internal and customer-reported defects using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone diagrams).
- Quality Documentation: Develop, review, and maintain critical quality documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC): Monitor and analyze manufacturing capabilities using SPC software, tracking CP/CPK metrics across our cold-forming, thread-rolling, and heat-treatment lines.
- Supplier & Customer Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for technical customer quality complaints and conduct periodic audits of raw material suppliers and coating vendors.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Metallurgical Engineering (or equivalent manufacturing experience).
- Experience: 3+ years of quality engineering experience specifically within a Tier-1 or Tier-2 automotive manufacturing environment.
- Core Knowledge: Deep, demonstrable understanding of Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) and IATF 16949 requirements.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with high-volume precision manufacturing, ideally cold-heading, metal stamping, or industrial fastener production.
