Truck & Trailer Mechanic

 Not your average shop.

$28–$35/hr DOE  ·  We’ll pay for your Class-A CDL  ·  Full Benefits

Pneumatics. Belly dumps. Tankers. Walking floors. Side dumps. And the heavy equipment that loads them.

This isn’t a shop where you do the same brake job on the same truck five times a day. At our Rapid City terminal you’ll work across the whole operation: tractors and a fleet of specialized trailers hauling everything from iron ore to molasses, plus the heavy equipment that keeps it all moving. Reinforce frames, add axles, rebuild air systems, keep specialized trailers road-ready. If you like knowing more than one thing, this is a shop where that pays off.

We’ll get you your CDL:  After six months, we’ll help you earn your Class-A CDL. It’s a skill that makes you more valuable, and we’re glad to invest in it.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain tractors and trailers: engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, air systems, and electrical
  • Service and repair a variety of specialized trailers: pneumatics, belly dumps, tankers, walking floors, and side dumps
  • Maintain the heavy equipment that supports the operation
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections to keep the fleet safe and road-ready
  • Execute annual vehicle inspections per CFR 49, Part 396 (DOT compliance)
  • Respond to occasional service calls
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 2-3 years’ experience working on trailers, engines, air brakes, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Heavy equipment experience is a plus, not a requirement
  • Ability to troubleshoot and think on your feet

ROOM TO GROW

We also run a shale pit operation. If you’re interested, there’s a path to heavy equipment maintenance out there once you’re MSHA-certified and we’ll help you get there. Between the CDL and the MSHA path, there’s real room to grow here if you want it.

WHAT YOU GET

  • $28–$35/hr depending on verifiable experience
  • Class-A CDL after six months
  • Full medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Uniforms and laundry service provided by Aramark
