We have an exciting opportunity within our company and are looking for an ambitious and talented Project Specialist Intern who will work closely with the Project Manager, executive team, and engineers throughout the company. You will work with the team to perform data analysis, monitor schedules and organize the informationin a manner that can be conveyed to agencies, contractors and other constituents. 

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Performs engineering tasks under close supervision; encouraged to solve engineering problems using experience, judgment and education but expected to ask for assistant when needed. 
  • Prepare detailed project schedules, including identification of major milestones, for overseeing, controlling, communicating and managing all activities required to complete projects.
  • Support the inspection processes and commissioning as required by the Project Manager.
  • Assist with the development of work plan, schedules, and logistics, and organize deliveries based on overall project parameters, project schedule and scope, and customer goals.
  • Write and prepare technical engineering reports, plans and specifications for projects
  • Provide timely and formal written communication throughout projects and disseminate all critical information to executive leadership, contract officers, and staff.
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Research/Review code and permitting requirements for project sites as directed.
  • Assist with the coordination of project meetings and reviews.
  • Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for project.
  • Assist in establishing costs and producing professional, accurate quotations that protect the profit margin.
  • Manages project hours to budgeted hours to ensure project profitability. Manage project hours to ensure profitability.
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long- term goals.
  • Coordinate and schedule project activities through communication, outreach, and activity tracking of participants
  • Assist with setup of online training software, preparation, distribution and facilitation on-line training and workshops
  • ​​Record meetings/webinars/training minutes and distributing the recorded materials.
  • Coordinates processes for tracking contact with and participation of the individuals we serve.
  • Participate in networking and community events with potential small businesses and partners, to increase program visibility.
  • Create marketing materials to describe project results and promote future contract events and activities, including social media posts, newsletters, flyers, and presentations.
  • Prepare information and respond to inquiries from a variety of stakeholders, including internal staff, partners, the media and the public

Qualification requirements:
  • Currently pursuing Bachelors or Masters Degree in Construction Management, Civil / Mechanical / Structural / Industrial / Electrical Engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid mathematical aptitude and effective project management skills
  • Strong technical and social skills
  • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, plans and other similar material
  • Collaboration-The ability to work with individuals who come from diverse backgrounds
  • Autonomous-An independent individual who is self-motivating and needs little supervision
  • Detail/Accuracy Oriented-All procedures and policies must be understood and followed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong computer skills
  • Occasional/temporary/overnight travel may be required to provide additional project assistance on site. Travel will be covered by the company
