Job Overview

 

The Lead Incoming Inspector is responsible for overseeing the performing preliminary and incoming inspection on all civil aviation articles received by this repair station in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturer's instructions for continued airworthiness, operator technical data, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable and/or approved by the FAA. 

The Lead Incoming Inspector also manages supplier-related quality and documentation issues for incoming material. This role ensures all parts meet quality, traceability, and documentation requirements while maintaining efficient parts flow to support operations.


Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and coordinate inspection on incoming parts, materials, and tooling to ensure Company standards and requirements are met and generate the applicable identification tags. 
  • Supervise and coordinate inspections and required inspections in accordance with the methods, standards, and limits required by the accepted or approved data to determine that the work was satisfactorily completed. 
  • Audit all inspection paperwork and components documentation for completeness and task compliance.
  • Assist and train new inspectors. 
  • Lead, and prioritize daily activities of Receiving Inspectors, including workload distribution, coverage, and overtime planning.
  • Oversee the work performed by Inspectors who are unfamiliar with the methods, techniques, practices, and equipment used to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations.
  • Log, track, and resolve quality and documentation discrepancies for incoming orders.
  • Manage quarantined or non-conforming parts, including proper segregation, tracking, and disposition in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with Supply Chain and/or vendors to resolve quality issues, missing documentation, and shipment discrepancies.
  • Handle any additional tasks as requested.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • High School or equivalent and basic computer skills 
  • Previous Inspection and/or Supply Chain experience in an Engine MRO shop.
  • A&P License
  • Experience using Quantum Controls ERP.
  • Strong understanding of part traceability and documentation requirements.
  • Familiarity with FAA Part 145 / EASA regulations for aircraft jet engines.
  • Effective communication skills with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-directed, motivated, and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
