Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care for general surgery patients in collaboration with the surgical team.
- Conduct inpatient rounds, manage consults, and provide follow-up care, working closely with hospitalists who admit patients ages 15 and older (no pediatric admissions).
- Perform endoscopic procedures as needed (if trained and credentialed) and assist in minor procedures under the supervision of a surgeon.
- Document patient care activities in the electronic health record in compliance with hospital and SAMGI standards.
- Work at the hospital’s clinic located conveniently across the street, providing continuity of care for surgical patients in an outpatient setting.
- Participate in patient and family education, ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction and understanding of care plans.

- Hospital Size: 211 beds with no trauma designation.
- Emergency Department Visits: Approximately 34,331 per year.
- Acute Care Surgical Consults/Admits: Around 414 per year.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Active California NP or PA license and certification (or eligibility for California licensure).
- Surgical or inpatient experience preferred, with endoscopy experience as a major plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to teamwork and patient-centered care.
