Certerra is seeking a motivated Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join our Northern Nevada team in Reno, NV. In this role, you will support geotechnical investigation, testing, analysis, and reporting on a wide variety of civil and infrastructure projects. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers, you will gain hands-on experience across all phases of geotechnical engineering practice, including field exploration, laboratory testing, data interpretation, and technical report writing. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to build a strong foundation in applied geotechnical engineering within a collaborative, growth-oriented firm.Â

Duties:Â
- Field Investigation & SamplingÂ
- Laboratory Testing & Data AnalysisÂ
- Geotechnical Report PreparationÂ
- Construction Observation & Testing Engineering Analysis & Design SupportÂ
- Perform slope stability, bearing capacity, and settlement analysesÂ
- Client & Project SupportÂ
- Assist project managers and senior engineers with deliverables and client communicationÂ
- Maintain accurate field logs, boring logs, and project documentationÂ
Education/Qualifications:Â
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering Required (Geotechnical focus preferred)Â
- M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering (a plus, not required)Â
- Relevant field or lab experience may substitute for advanced degree 0–3 years of geotechnical engineering experience
Certifications/Licenses needed:Â
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required;Â
- PE license a plusÂ
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER, ACI Field Testing, ICC Special Inspection certifications (valued)
