This role ensures materials are available when and where they are needed to support project schedules while maintaining inventory accuracy, controlling costs, and minimizing waste. The Material Manager collaborates closely with Project Managers, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse Operations, Vendors, and Field Leadership to ensure efficient material flow across multiple projects. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational and leadership skills, extensive knowledge of construction materials, and the ability to manage inventory and material resources in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks: Develop and implement material management strategies to support project schedules and operational objectives. Oversee the receipt, storage, tracking, distribution, and inventory control of construction materials. Coordinate with Project Managers, Procurement, and field teams to forecast material requirements and ensure timely availability. Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate stock quantities to support project demands. Establish and maintain inventory control procedures to ensure material accuracy and accountability. Manage material allocations and transfers between warehouses, fabrication facilities, and project sites. Track material deliveries and proactively address shortages, discrepancies, damaged materials, and delivery delays. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of material orders. Oversee warehouse operations and material handling activities to maximize efficiency and safety. Implement systems and processes to improve material visibility, tracking, and reporting. Analyze material usage trends and identify opportunities to reduce waste and optimize inventory levels. Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements. Support project mobilization and planning efforts through effective material forecasting and coordination. Develop and maintain reports related to inventory levels, material utilization, shortages, and performance metrics. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives related to material management. Understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and vendor relationships. Knowledge of electrical construction materials, equipment, and project execution processes preferred. Familiarity with inventory management systems, ERP platforms, and material tracking technologies. Understanding of construction scheduling and material planning principles. Knowledge of material storage requirements, quality standards, and handling procedures. Understanding of safety regulations related to warehouse operations and material handling. Skills Strong inventory management and organizational skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience utilizing inventory management, ERP, or warehouse management systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in material management, inventory control, warehouse operations, procurement, or construction operations. Minimum 2-3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Experience supporting commercial, industrial, electrical, or mission-critical construction projects preferred. Experience with inventory management systems, ERP platforms, and warehouse management software required. Experience supporting large-scale data center, industrial, or electrical construction projects is highly desirable.     Physical Requirements:   Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information. Ability to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information. Required to sit at a desk work station for long and short periods of time. Push, pull, lift and carry at least 10 pounds. Occasionally required to walk and stand. Required to have visual acuity with or without correction in order to read and interpret contract information and view information on a computer monitor. Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach. May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
