FOOD SERVICE MANAGER / KITCHEN LEAD

Bring the energy. Lead the team. Serve great food. Make a difference.

Job Summary

Are you the kind of person who sees a busy kitchen and thinks, “Let’s go!”?

We’re looking for a motivated, hands-on leader who loves great food, great service, and building a team that takes pride in what they do. This is a key leadership role for someone who can keep things organized, jump in when needed, solve problems, and make sure our customers have a great experience every time they visit.

As our Food Service Manager, you’ll lead day-to-day food operations, maintain high standards for quality and cleanliness, coach and develop your team, manage inventory and production, and help create a workplace that is productive, positive, and fun.

This isn’t a “sit back and watch” position. We’re looking for someone who is ready to lead from the front, roll up their sleeves, and make things happen.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead all food-service operations, including the hot deli, coffee bar, cold cases, baked goods, grab-and-go meals, roller grill, and fountain beverages.
  • Plan food preparation around peak business hours and customer traffic so we have the right products ready at the right time.
  • Monitor production, control portions, reduce waste, and track spoilage or food loss.
  • Order food and supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Complete accurate monthly deli inventories.
  • Work with the Store Manager to develop food-service schedules and help cover shifts when necessary.
  • Make sure popular products remain available throughout service hours.
  • Develop and maintain clear shift duties, prep lists, and daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
  • Maintain food-safety standards and ensure the department is always ready for inspections.
  • Maintain any required food-safety certification or licensing.
  • Assist the Store Manager with interviewing and hiring new team members.
  • Train, coach, and continue developing food-service employees on food safety, labeling, dating, product rotation, preparation, cleanliness, and customer service.
  • Meet or exceed vendor expectations and standards.
  • Provide outstanding customer service while preparing and serving food.
  • Work closely with the Store Manager while also being confident working independently.
  • Address problems instead of walking past them — if you see it, own it.
  • Keep the kitchen organized, clean, safe, stocked, and ready for business.
  • Help create an environment where people can work hard, have fun, and be proud of what they accomplish.
  • Protect company property and immediately report safety or security concerns.
  • Assist customers and team members wherever needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Store Manager.

Leadership Matters Here

You’ll be responsible for helping your kitchen team succeed. That means setting expectations, providing training, recognizing good work, and addressing problems when they happen.

You’ll also communicate with the Store Manager regarding staffing concerns, policy violations, performance issues, or anything else that could negatively impact the store.

We want a leader who doesn’t simply point out problems — we want someone who helps find solutions.
