Do you have knowledge and understanding of medical benefit plans and programs? Do you enjoy advocating for others? Are you able to adapt? Do you have strong organizational & time management skills? As a Beneficiary Services Representative you will be responsible for supporting, guiding & advocating for military members to ensure awareness of medical benefit plans & programs and coordinating their healthcare needs. Skills and qualities that we are looking for either in a civilian or military environment: This is a federally contracted position which requires U.S. Citizenship (Born in the US or its territories (includes Puerto Rico, Guam, US Virgin Islands), Born Abroad of US Parents, Naturalization). Ability to complete and pass a background investigation. Customer service experience helping patients navigate their healthcare needs. Ability to manage systems for organizing, tracking and storing data and files. Ability to manage, organize, and plan quality assurance procedures within a clinic and/or hospital environment to meet program objectives. Ability to apply written policies and procedures while adapting them to individual situations for Service Men & Women and Veterans. Understand legal type processes to ensure compliance with medical evaluation board requirements. Ability to conduct routine analysis on data and performance standards. Ability to serve as a liaison with multiple agencies (Veterans Affairs, Wounded Warrior Program), healthcare providers, case managers, and patient advocates to coordinate and assist with continuity of care for service members. Ability to provide guidance to all types of beneficiaries such as the primary beneficiary & family members, to ensure they are aware of their rights, obligations, benefits, & privileges. Ability to provide reports, briefings, and trainings and responds to inquiries. Ability to advise members and medical staff of board findings. Ability to coordinate patient travel for members opting to appeal. Ability to assist in preparing appeals and rebuttals and coordinates the assignment of legal counsel. Ability to initiate actions to facilitate Emergency Travel arrangements for seriously ill or injured members. Ability to learn custom and/or new software systems with minimal challenges. Is proficient with MS Office Suite and other related software. Have/had an affiliation with military desired. Education: Associate Degree in business administration, management or health care organizations from an accredited college or university preferred. Experience: Military or healthcare background preferred. Customer service-focused. Work Environment/Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. Requirements include prolonged walking, standing, sitting or bending.
