Position Summary

We are seeking an Accounting & Finance Specialist to support the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of our growing construction organization. This position will be responsible for tracking incoming and outgoing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing bookkeeping and accounting support to the company’s accountant.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with financial transactions and documentation in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This position will also communicate with both English- and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders; therefore, professional proficiency in both languages is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments and financial transactions.
  • Monitor cash receipts and disbursements and ensure transactions are properly documented.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including tracking invoices, payments, and outstanding balances.
  • Support the accountant with day-to-day bookkeeping and general accounting activities.
  • Assist with bank and account reconciliations and research discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records, invoices, receipts, payment documentation, and supporting records.
  • Verify financial information and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with internal departments regarding invoices, payments, reimbursements, and other financial matters.
  • Communicate with vendors and other business partners regarding payment or account-related matters as needed.
  • Assist with month-end accounting activities and preparation of financial documentation.
  • Support the accountant with reports, schedules, reconciliations, and other financial information as requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company financial and business information.
  • Assist with additional accounting and finance-related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, accounts payable/accounts receivable, or a related role.
  • Professional proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese required due to regular business communication with English- and Mandarin-speaking internal stakeholders.
  • Previous experience within the construction industry is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.
  • Experience tracking financial transactions, payments, invoices, and account activity.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential financial information.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with accounting, finance, and other departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with accounting or financial management software preferred.
Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting accounting operations within a commercial construction or project-based organization.
  • Familiarity with construction-related invoices, vendor payments, subcontractor documentation, or project expenses.
  • Experience with account reconciliations and financial recordkeeping.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and business partners across different departments and locations.
