Industrial Painter and Blaster

Skillforce is hiring Industrial Painters and Blasters for ongoing project work in Richmond, Virginia. As an Industrial Painter and Blaster, you will be responsible for running abrasive blast for surface preparation and applying industrial coatings by airless spray on structural steel, tanks, and other industrial work. Industrial Painter and Blaster Pay:

• $23.00 to $27.00 per hour based on your experience level.
• W-2 employment with weekly pay by direct deposit.
• Travel expenses are covered on out of town work.

Industrial Painter and Blaster Schedule:

• Full time with overtime available.
• Ongoing project work with a consistent weekly schedule.
• Local work in the Richmond area with occasional out of town jobs.

Industrial Painter and Blaster Responsibilities:

• Run abrasive blast equipment for surface preparation on steel and tanks.
• Apply industrial coatings by airless spray to project specification.
• Mix coatings and match them to the project spec sheet.
• Mask, clean, etch, and profile steel surfaces ahead of coating.
• Check and document mil thickness and DFT readings on completed work.
• Set up, break down, and maintain blast pots, hoses, and spray equipment.
• Follow all site safety requirements and wear the required respiratory and blast PPE.

Industrial Painter and Blaster Qualifications:

• You have blast or spray experience, and experience in both is preferred.
• You can hit mil thickness and DFT targets consistently.
• You are comfortable with local work and out of town travel.
• You have reliable transportation to the job site.
• You can pass a drug screen and background check.
• You are authorized to work in the United States.
• SSPC or NACE training and confined space experience are both a plus.
