Position Summary:  

The incumbent in this position is responsible for system architecture, system administration, server support, application installation and overall systems health.  The Systems Engineer will work closely with other Systems, Security and Network Team Members, Tech Services Specialists, and the Applications team to provide cohesive, team-driven solutions and strategies against a complex and growing server and application-centric environment.

The Systems Engineer will be required to have direct, long-term experience with the following technologies:

Required:

  • VMWare
  • Application server support and deployment
  • Windows server administration
  • Server OS patch management
  • Data backup system management
  • Basic networking concepts
  • IIS administration
  • Remote access methodologies
  • Automation scripting (PowerShell / VB)
  • Command line (PowerShell CLI / cmdlets)
  • DNS / DHCP
  • Microsoft domain management
  • File & print services
  • AD and ADFS

Additionally, there are many technologies that this position must have exposure to, and in-depth experience is preferred:

  • Database server management
  • Linux server administration
  • Cisco networking experience
  • Network load balancing

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes superior guest service.
  • Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
  • Evaluates and recommends new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise.
  • Monitors server performance and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement. 
  • The position is responsible for working with and becoming knowledgeable in other operating systems and platforms as needed to meet business requirements.
  • Responsible for technical architecture and makes recommendations related to system support.
  • Serves as a top-level technical contributor with advanced knowledge and experience working with operating systems and related hardware and software. 
  • Responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance and support of servers, collaboration systems, storage area network, enterprise backup, virtual servers, and systems management environments.
  • Presents information to management that may result in the purchase and installation of hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Acts as an internal consultant, mentor, and provider of technical guidance.
  • Design: Works with management, peers, and vendors to design and implement hardware/software configurations, logical models, operational management models, and business continuity plans for systems under management.
  • Support: Works with management, peers, and vendors to provide ongoing monitoring, performance tuning, implementation, and fault root cause analysis for systems under management.  
  • Technical Writing: Creation and maintenance of troubleshooting and operational documentation for all systems under management. Authors and peer-reviews knowledgebase articles documenting fault root causes and their respective resolutions.
  • Training: Provides and receives cross-discipline training in order to ensure maximum availability of systems under management. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively pursues opportunities, as an individual and as part of a group, to improve knowledge, tools, and processes for systems under management.
  • Carries and responds to off-hours communications device, to provide 24x7 support for systems under management.
  • Leads Change Management process and methodology as it relates to Network Administration
  • Responsible for enforcing the privacy rules pursuant to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) as applicable to ilani
  • Responsible for understanding and ensuring PCI compliance requirements are effectively implemented
  • Supports established enterprise Shared Services Agreement and adheres to ongoing collaboration efforts.
  • Responsible for maintaining and enforcing confidentiality and privacy rules pursuant to all applicable regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, and four (4) years of experience.

  ~OR~

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, and eight (8) years of progressive Information Technology experience.

  ~OR~

  • High School Diploma or GED and (10) ten years of progressive Information Technology experience.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain gaming licensure in one or more jurisdictions.
  • Advanced knowledge of operating systems, backup solutions, systems management, monitoring and expertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated advanced experience working in a VMWare environment.
  • Demonstrated advanced experience working with all aspects of Window Server and its components.
  • Experience administrating AD and ADFS environments.
  • Experience working with Cloud solutions in a hybrid environment.
  • Demonstrated technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with Mobile devices and support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge working with Microsoft 365 and e-mail administration.
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and related hardware, network and authentication services, and mass storage devices and their related technologies.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex problems. 
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
  • Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certifications preferred,
  • VMWare Certifications preferred.
  • Experience working with VxRail preferred.

Wages:

This role offers a starting wage of $96,338.00 annually. Candidates with relevant experience may be placed higher within the established pay range.
