Community Health Center of Central Wyoming (CHCCW) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support our growing clinical team in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to individuals and families who need it the most.

The CMA provides clinical support services to the providers. Duties include:Â
- Preparation of patients for the exam room
- Observing, interviewing and notating patient symptomsÂ
- Basic laboratory testing, ECG, and updraft treatmentsÂ
- Measurement of vital signsÂ
- Assisting with proceduresÂ
- Administering medications and immunizationsÂ
- Maintaining quality, safety and/or infection control standardsÂ
- Safely operating various medical equipmentÂ
- Sterilizing supplies and equipmentÂ
- Maintaining and restocking examination and procedure roomsÂ
This position also requires Electronic Medical Record (EMR) proficiency and a basic knowledge of front office procedures such as scheduling appointments. The CMA will be expected to work in other areas of the clinic when deemed appropriate, such as the Call Center or floating to other areas when needed.
The CMA should have knowledge of:Â
- Medical termsÂ
- Medical clinical protocols and proceduresÂ
- Patient evaluationÂ
- Triage methods, concepts, practices, communications and techniques
- Drawing labs (as phlebotomy isn’t always available)
- Procedures and standards for administration of medications, immunizations and patient careÂ
- Patient charts and patient medical historiesÂ
- Applicable medical equipment operation such as catheters, oxygen, and autoclavesÂ
- Applicable OSHA health, environment and safety, Federal and State laws, rules and regulations
What We’re Looking For:
- High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED)
- Completion of Medical Assistant Program Certification with the National Association of Health Professionals upon hire, or within the first (90) days of employment
- BLS Certification (current, or obtain upon hire)
- Strong communication and teamworking skills
- Bilingual ability is a plus
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Effective communication and interpersonal skillsÂ
