Metrohm USA is seeking a Junior Service Specialist to join our Service Center team in Riverview, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career technical professional who enjoys problem-solving, hands-on repair work, and supporting customers with industry-leading laboratory instrumentation.

Position Summary

As a Junior Service Specialist, you will support the testing, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and maintenance of Metrohm analytical instruments. Working alongside experienced service professionals, you will develop technical expertise while contributing to the delivery of exceptional service and support for our customers.

This role offers a combination of hands-on bench repair, technical problem-solving, customer support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

What You Will Do

Instrument Repair & Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory analytical instrumentation at the component level.
  • Utilize schematics, testing equipment, and technical documentation to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Perform calibration, testing, and verification of repaired instruments.
  • Test new instrumentation prior to customer shipment.
  • Assist senior technicians with complex service and repair projects.

Customer & Technical Support

  • Provide technical assistance to customers via phone, email, and other support channels.
  • Support field service activities when needed to resolve customer issues.
  • Communicate repair findings, service recommendations, and technical information clearly and professionally.

Service Center Operations

  • Manage repair workflow to support timely completion of customer repairs.
  • Coordinate with Service Support and Repair Administration on parts requirements and repair planning.
  • Assist with warranty processing, product returns (RMA), and replacement activities.
  • Assemble Preventive Maintenance (PM) Kits and perform light assembly tasks as assigned.

Quality, Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all repair, calibration, and service activities comply with Metrohm quality standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Follow company policies, inventory control procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain and protect company assets and equipment.
  • Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year of technical repair, service, maintenance, or troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Experience troubleshooting laboratory, industrial, electronic, or analytical instrumentation.
  • Experience with CRM or service management software.
  • Knowledge of calibration, quality systems, or regulated environments.
  • Microsoft Dynamics CE or similar service software experience.
