Position Title: Inside Sales Loan Officer 

Reports to: Inside Sales Manager 

Department: Corporate – Consumer Direct Division 

Location: Corporate Office – Roanoke, VA / In-Office 

Position Type: Full-Time; 40 hours per week 

Supervises: None 

FLSA Classification / Type: Non-Exempt / Administrative 

Pay Range: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour Base plus Commissions

POSITION SUMMARY

The Inside Sales Loan Officer will be responsible for originating residential mortgage loans from all inquiries and leads given from ALCOVA Mortgage digital platforms. The Inside Sales Loan Officer will deliver exceptional customer service by educating the borrowers on their options and guiding them through the loan process. The Inside Sales Loan Officer will ensure that the borrowers’ financing needs are met with honesty and transparency. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Handle all inquiries and leads from ALCOVA Mortgage digital platforms (phone, email and website)
  2. Work with clients in a consultative selling approach, learning the applicants’ housing goals and needs
  3. Recommend all available loan options to clients
  4. Convert leads to full application and submit complete loan applications and proper documentation to processing team
  5. Obtain and analyze credit reports with an understanding of the data and approval implications
  6. Lock in interest rates when the customer requests or approves 
  7. Manage lead pipeline with new inquiries and ensure consistent contact with all parties involved in transactions
  8. Understand and navigate the loan origination system ensuring full understanding of compliance and meet all requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE, AND COMPETENCIES 

  1. Valid Driver’s License required 
  2. High school diploma or equivalent education 
  3. Ability to meet State Mortgage License requirements
  4. Highly motivated, ambitious and driven to succeed 
  5. Must be trustworthy, honest, and able to continuously display a high level of integrity
  6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  8. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  9. Ability to understand and respond appropriately to basic inquiries 
  10. Ability to read, write, and communicate using the English language sufficient to perform job functions 
  11. Ability to multi-task (e.g., simultaneous usage of several applications, etc.)
  12. Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  13. Works well under general supervision
  14. Ability to handle deadlines and working within banking guidelines
  15. Compliance with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) requirements are required. Employees must complete annual training in these areas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a clerical, climate-controlled office setting with adequate lighting and low to moderate noise. In this role, the individual regularly uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing and photocopying is required. This would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.

TRAVEL

This position requires up to 10% domestic travel, primarily consisting of day or short trips to local branch offices, regional meetings, or occasional off-site training seminars, which may require overnight stays. Must hold a valid U.S. driver's license and have reliable personal transportation, with all work-related mileage and expenses fully reimbursed by the Company. 

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This position is scheduled to work a 40-hour workweek. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm and Saturday, 10:00am to 2:00pm. Specific work schedules will be determined based upon business needs.
